Bastrop’s downtown hospitality scene is poised for another boost, as Bastrop resident John Wayne Formica is set to open Pluto’s Wine Bar in early 2026.

Formica, who is classically trained in French cuisine, has trained and worked in a variety of kitchens across the world, including those in:
- Sorrento, Italy
- Los Angeles, California
- Los Alamos, California
