Bastrop to begin $220,000 sidewalk project connecting city parks
3 Nov 2020
Traveling between parks in Bastrop will soon become easier as the city is set to begin a sidewalk connectivity project linking together several public green spaces.
“This is a long time coming,” Public Works Director Curtis Hancock said of the project during his presentation at the Oct. 27 City Council meeting.
Several past city plans have mentioned adding sidewalk extensions to Bastrop city parks, including the city’s Parks and Open Space Master Plan and the Bastrop Comprehensive Plan.
The project will add new sidewalks to improve walkability and public safety in the city, as well as connect Bastrop’s parks system.
