Ascension Seton Bastrop Hospital marks construction milestone

A construction milestone was celebrated Monday for the Ascension Seton Bastrop Hospital after the last structural beam was placed on the future 40,000-square-foot medical center.

The Beck Group, the collaborative team helping design and build the hospital, held a ceremony Monday to celebrate the hospital’s “topping out,” or placement of the last structural beam.

“I’m extremely proud of the entire team working on this new hospital for Bastrop and the surrounding communities,” said Ryan Therrell, director of business development for The Beck Group. “One of our company’s core values is caring, and projects like this really hit home as they allow us to see the community impact that construction can have. We’re excited for Seton to move into their new facility later this fall.”

Located on 32 acres in the southeast corner of Texas 71 at Texas 304, the $30 million medical campus will have a full emergency department with ambulatory service and inpatient beds on the first floor, with the second floor built out for medical offices that will offer primary and specialty care services.

“We are excited about the construction progress for the Ascension Seton Bastrop Hospital,” said Craig Cordola, president and CEO for Ascension Texas. “We look forward to opening the neighborhood hospital which will connect the Bastrop community to quality care and resources across the Ascension Seton network.”

Bastrop is one of the top 50 fastest-growing counties in the United States, according to U.S. Census data, and Seton officials said the rapid population growth in the Lost Pines region means the demand for health care has also increased.
