Colorado River Collegiate Academy: The hidden gem of Bastrop ISD offering dual degrees

Within Bastrop ISD is a unique educational opportunity: Colorado River Collegiate Academy, an early college high school. Through a partnership between the district and Austin Community College, students can work simultaneously toward their high school diploma and an associate degree.

“It’s a truly unique experience for these students to attend their high school and college graduations just a few days apart from each other,” CRCA Counselor Tiffany Jimenez said.

One of CRCA’s standout features is its affordability. There is no cost to Bastrop ISD students when they follow one of the approved degree plans.The district covers tuition, books and transportation, ensuring that students can pursue their education without financial barriers. The only cost to families arises if a student fails or needs to retake a course, in which case a $150 fee is charged.
