Welcome to Bastrop!
Established in 1832 as part of Stephen F. Austin's "Little Colony," Bastrop is the second oldest incorporated city in Texas. You can see more than 100 homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Be sure to visit Historic Downtown. Just take Loop 150 into Old Town Bastrop, the Heart of the Colorado River on the El Camino Trail where the present meets the past.
Bastrop residents are part of a close community. Our tremendous growth trends consistently raises the standard of excellence, yet we are small enough to know and care for each other. The many attractions offered in Bastrop foster opportunities for family time and fellowship.
Bastrop enjoys four excellent 18-hole golf courses; including the #4 ranked ColoVista and the new Wolfdancer course at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa; Riverwalk & Jogging Trails; Historic Downtown & Residential District (we're the 2nd oldest incorporated town in Texas!); Bastrop Opera House Theater, and much, much more! |
