Education

educationPicThe Bastrop Independent School District provides a challenging and rewarding educational experience for every child.

Additionally, Bastrop has ready access to the cultural and educational opportunities offered in nearby Austin—Texas' State Capital—as well as the many agricultural, natural and vocational experiences that come from our unique setting along the Colorado River in the piney woods.

Our central location puts Bastrop within a short drive of major colleges and universities, including the University of Texas (30 minutes), Texas A&M (75 minutes), and Texas State University (45 minutes). Within a few hours' drive are schools in Houston and San Antonio as well.
