On July 17, 2010, please join the Bastrop Economic Development Corporation and the Bastrop Main Street Program in celebrating the completion of phase II of the Chestnut Street Improvement Project and the unveiling of bronze medallions commemorating El Camino Real De los Tejas and Bastrop's rich history. The celebration begins at 9 a.m. with a ribbon cutting at the corner of Chestnut and Water Streets and continues with an open house at Deep in the Heart Art Foundry in the BEDC Industrial Park. The Foundry will be giving tours of their facility (where the medallions were designed and cast), the new Fireside Gallery and sculpture garden. Shuttle service will be available until 11 between the ribbon cutting and open house sites.
